Remember that a Starbucks® Tall is 12 oz., a Grande is 16 oz. and a Venti is 20 oz.
but a frappuccino adds 4 oz. for the crushed ice and room on top for the whipped créme.
-
Starbucks Tazo® Chai Tea concentrate:
This can be purchased at Starbucks, most grocery stores, and also at:
Starbucks Store
-
Equal amount (1/3 of what you prepare) of your choice of milk:
I use Lactaid® Calcium Enriched milk (it's fat-free).
-
Whipped cream topping: I use Reddi-Wip® (it's fat-free)
-
McCormick® Chai Spice Blend:
In addition to ground (dry) ingredients of chai tea (minus the black tea & sweetener),
you can substitute by topping with either cinnamon and/or nutmeg.
-
I recommend visiting Starbucks Store to purchase an appropriate container for cold beverages
(that won't condensate):
The lid can be purchased at most Starbucks® for approx. $2.95 + tax...
...this is obviously for the added space for the whipped topping.
-
Measuring cup
-
Equal parts (1/3 of the serving amount) of crushed ice:
(I use the crushed ice dispenser from my refrigerator)
-
Aerolatte® (for stirring):
This is useful for many beverages...and they run on 2-AA batteries!
...and it is an excellent tool for frothing (without using an espresso machine!)
These used to only be purchased at cookware stores for $15+tax:
Williams-Sonoma®, Le Gourmet Chef®, Kitchen Capers® etc.
...but now can be purchased at Wal*Mart, Target, etc. for under $5!
-
Total prep time for this should be under 5 minutes!
